This is a prayer composed by Yangthang Rinpoche at a request made by Khenpo Sodargye’s disciples. By chanting this prayer, we are praying to Nanam Dorje Dudjom, Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, and Khenpo Sodargye Rinpoche for their blessing to pacify all clinging to this life’s eight concerns, so that we can achieve spiritual realization quickly and smoothly.
May the blessing of the gurus penetrate our being.
We need two things in order to achieve realization. One is our own wisdom of comprehending the profound teaching and the ability of putting it into practice; the other is the powerful blessing of our lineage masters, which can only be received if we sincerely and constantly pray to them.

A Prayer to Receive the Blessings of Khenpo Sodargye

སྙིང་རྗེའི་གཏེར་ཆེན་ཕྱག་ན་པདྨོ་ཡི། །
nyingjé terchen chak na pemo yi
In the Land of Snows, that special realm where Padmapāṇi,
གདུལ་བྱའི་ཞིང་མཆོག་གངས་རིའི་ལྗོངས་འདི་རུ། །
duljé zhing chok gangri jong diru
Compassion’s boundless treasure, trains disciples,
བཀའ་དྲིན་ཟླ་བྲལ་པདྨ་སཾ་བྷ་ཝས། །
kadrin dadral pema sam bhavé
You were cared for by Padmasambhava, in his incomparable kindness.
རྗེས་བཟུང་གྲུབ་ཆེན་ནམ་མཁའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་པ། །
jezung drubchen namkhé naljorpa
Great siddha, yogi of space—
རྡོ་རྗེ་བདུད་འཇོམས་ཞབས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
dorjé düjom zhab la solwa deb
Dorje Dudjom, at your feet I pray:
ཆོས་བརྒྱད་ཚེ་འདིའི་ཞེན་པ་རང་གྲོལ་ནས། །
chö gyé tsé di zhenpa rangdrol né
Bless me so that all clinging to this life’s eight concerns naturally falls away,
ཚེ་དང་སྒྲུབ་པ་སྙོམས་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །
tsé dang drubpa nyompar jingyi lob
And my practice continues for as long as I shall live.
མཆོག་གི་གསང་གསུམ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་གར། །
chok gi sang sum dorjé gyutrul gar
The magical vajra dance of Dorje Dudjom’s three secrets,
རྩོད་ལྡན་དུས་ཀྱི་མུན་སེལ་འགྲོ་བའི་མགོན། །
tsöden dü kyi münsel drowé gön
Protector of beings, who clears the darkness in this age of conflict—
འཇིགས་མེད་ཕུན་ཚོགས་ཞབས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
jikme püntsok zhab la solwa deb
Jigme Phuntsok, at your feet I pray:
ཆོས་བརྒྱད་ཚེ་འདིའི་ཞེན་པ་རང་གྲོལ་ནས། །
chö gyé tsé di zhenpa rangdrol né
Bless me so that all clinging to this life’s eight concerns naturally falls away,
ཚེ་དང་སྒྲུབ་པ་སྙོམས་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

གང་གི་གསུང་གི་འོད་ཟེར་འཕོས་པ་ལས། །
gang gi sung gi özer pöpa lé
As the light from Jigme Phuntsok’s wisdom speech immersed you in its rays,
ཟབ་རྒྱས་ཆོས་ལ་བློ་གྲོས་འདབ་བརྒྱ་བཞད། །
zabgyé chö la lodrö dabgya zhé
The lotus of your Dharma understanding blossomed, profound and vast,
བསྟན་འགྲོར་སྨན་པའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་མཛད་བཟང་ཅན། །
ten dror menpé trinlé dzé zangchen
And your actions to nurture the teachings and beings became extraordinary—
བསོད་ནམས་དར་རྒྱས་མཆོག་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
sönam dargyé chok la solwa deb
Sublime one, Sonam Dargye, to you I pray:
ཆོས་བརྒྱད་ཚེ་འདིའི་ཞེན་པ་རང་གྲོལ་ནས། །
chö gyé tsé di zhenpa rangdrol né
Bless me so that all clinging to this life’s eight concerns naturally falls away,
ཚེ་དང་སྒྲུབ་པ་སྙོམས་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །
tsé dang drubpa nyompar jingyi lob
And my practice continues for as long as I shall live.
སྐྱེ་སྔོན་བསོ༵ད་ན༵མས་རྒྱ་ཆེན་ལེགས་བྱས་མཐུས། །
kyé ngön sönam gyachen lek jé tü
Through the power of wholesome acts and vast merit from former lives,
རྟེན་འདིར་འགྲོ་དོན་ཕྱོགས་མེད་ད༵ར་ཞིང་རྒྱ༵ས། །
ten dir dro dön chokmé dar zhing gyé
In this life you have made the benefit of beings spread and flourish beyond all limit,
རྒྱལ་བསྟན་དགུང་དུ་འདེགས་པའི་དཔལ་མངའ་བ། །
gyalten gung du dekpé pal ngawa
And mastered the glory of raising Buddha’s teachings higher and higher—
རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་མཆོག་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
tsawé lama chok la solwa deb
Root guru supreme: to you I pray.
བླ་མ་སངས་རྒྱས་དངོས་མཐོང་མོས་གུས་ཀྱིས། །
lama sangye ngö tong mögü kyi
Through the devotion of seeing the guru as buddha in person,
རྣམ་ཀུན་ཁྱེད་ཤེས་དྲག་པོས་གསོལ་འདེབས་ན། །
namkün khyé shé drakpö soldeb na
With total trust, I call out to you, continually, at every turn—
ཆོས་ཀྱི་འགལ་རྐྱེན་མ་ལུས་ཉེར་ཞི་ནས། །
chö kyi galkyen malü nyerzhi né
Bless me to overcome conditions adverse to the Dharma, every single one,
ཆོས་བརྒྱད་བྲལ་བའི་དབེན་ཁྲོད་ཉམས་དགའ་བར། །
chö gyé dralwé wen trö nyamgawar
And in an enchanting, secluded retreat, far from the eight concerns,
ཚེ་དང་སྒྲུབ་པ་མཐའ་རུ་ཕྱིན་ནས་ཀྱང་། །
tsé dang drubpa ta ru chin né kyang
When my life and my practice arrive at their culmination,
མ་དག་འཁྲུལ་བའི་སྣང་བ་དབྱིངས་སུ་ནུབ། །
ma dak trulwé nangwa ying su nub
Let all impure, delusory experiences evaporate into space,
ཀ་དག་ཆོས་སྐུའི་དགོངས་པ་མངོན་གྱུར་ནས། །
kadak chökü gongpa ngöngyur né
And as I gain direct realization of dharmakāya, original purity,
ལྷུན་གྲུབ་བདེ་གཤེགས་སྙིང་པོའི་ཕོ་བྲང་དུ། །
lhündrub deshek nyingpö podrang du
In the palace of spontaneous perfection, buddha nature,
གདོད་མའི་བཙན་ས་ཟིན་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །
dömé tsensa zinpar jingyi lob
May I seize the stronghold of the primordial state!
ཞེས་གསོལ་འདེབས་འདི་ཉིད་བླ་མ་རང་ཉིད་ཀྱི་དངོས་སློབ་ཅང་ཁུ་ཞེས་པ་སོགས་འགའ་ཤས་ཀྱིས་བསྐུལ་ངོ་མི་ལྡོག་ཙམ་དུ་གཡང་ཐང་སྤྲུལ་མིང་པས་ཕྱི་ལོ༢༠༡༥ལོའི་ཟླ་༩་པའི་ནང་བྲིས་པ་འདིས་ཀྱང་བླ་མའི་བྱིན་རླབས་རྒྱུད་ལ་གཞུག་པའི་རྒྱུར་གྱུར་ཅིག བཀྲ་ཤིས།
Just so as not to decline a request made by the lama’s disciples, Jiang Khu and others, the one called Yangthang Tulku wrote this prayer in September 2015. May it become a cause for the blessings of the guru to penetrate our being. And let all be auspicious!
